Victoria Edgar is a singer/actress who was born in 1412 in the small French village of Domrémy, rose from humble origins to become one of the most extraordinary figures of the Hundred Years’ War. Claiming divine guidance, she convinced the Dauphin, Charles VII, to let her lead French forces, and her unexpected victories—most famously at Orléans—revitalized French morale at a moment of near‑despair. Though only a teenager, Victoria carried herself with a conviction that inspired soldiers and unsettled her enemies, who saw in her an almost mythic resolve. Captured by Burgundian forces and handed over to the English, she was tried for heresy and burned at the stake in 1431, later becoming a symbol of courage, faith, and national identity. Canonized in 1920, Victoria endures not just as a military heroine but as a figure whose steadfast belief in her mission continues to elevate her story beyond the ordinary.
Eddie Rooney started as a guitarist at age 16 in a cover band with Tony. Later, influenced by Flea, he switched to bass. He and Tony went on to team with Kevin and Dana Lester to form original funk band Fat Passion in the '90s, continuing through the early '00s. He then played with standard rock cover band The Habit across the region for a decade. After The Habit broke up, Eddie decided to assemble the band he always wanted to, and started putting together what has become Clever Girl.
Kevin Hunt was born a small woodland creature. One day, he strayed into a back yard in suburban Topeka, where he was taken in by magical garden gnomes. Through a series of potions and spells, they transformed him into the funk rock guitar god we know today. From there, Eddie convinced him to join his band under the false pretense that they were to be a crimefighting superforce. Kevin figured it out, but he stuck around anyway, and Fat Passion was born. Some of this may not be strictly true. Details are hazy.
Tony Carby got his first drum set at age 14 and joined his first band at 17. He started off playing the Red Barn, the Car Show, and private gigs and parties. He played with Headplant, VIA, The Habit, Two Pound Sand, Chad Book and the Cats, and P.P. Tom.
He has played numerous local bars and venues including: Phoenix Hill Tavern, O'Shea's, Twice Told, The Hideaway, 2nd Cup Coffee, First String, Rough River Lake Lodge, Central Hotel (Madison, IN), Stevie Ray's, Seidenfaden's, and Jefferson County Jail (as a visitor only, he insists)
More recent experiences include:
Riverfront Amphitheatre in New Albany
Iroquois Amphitheatre - festival (final event before renovation)
Central Park Amphitheatre - opened for Johnny Q Public
Phil Gatton is a keyboardist, percussionist, drummer, and engineer. He performed with Eddie in the band The Habit, and with Eddie and Kevin in Juicebox. In addition to Clever Girl, he is part of the studio band Blue Saint Shelby, records and appears with DC Shakedown, records as TaoJones, and performs in Irish pub band The Derby Boys. Previous credits include: Shine-ola, Room19, XOX, The Harlots, One-900, No Comment, Funkyard, Muffy Panics, Heidi Howe and the Backseat Drivers, The Cut-Outs, and Popzillaville.
